The misconception that many promoters have is that having a popular name, flashy promotional flyer and celebrity headliner is enough to sell tickets. Contrary to that belief, promoting a success party requires a lot of planning, networking, sleepless nights, dedication, and most importantly, attention to details. The underlining reason why a lot of events are not successful is because they allow personal and other insignificant things to serve as a distraction. That is why, their main objectives should be to: maximize earning potential, create a following of “happy campers” and establish a reputation that is associated with quality events.

Not All Webmasters Are Created Equal
For those of you who may not know, a webmaster is someone that handles the day-to-day technical operation of a website. His or her primary responsibilities typically includes: responding to emails, fixing technical errors, implementing new features, updating content and making sure that members abide by the website’s terms and conditions. Those daily responsibilities complete the 24 Hours workload for most webmasters, but unfortunately some are neglecting their obligations by using their websites as a platform to spread rumors, and attempt to belittle or tarnish the reputation of partygoers, and promoters. And to make matters even more disturbing, some have resorted to threatening to inflict physical harm on people that might have rubbed them the wrong in person or over the grape vine. Behaviors like those are not only sad and upsetting, but the total opposite to what webmasters/bloggers such as myself and countless others would view as anything other than being counterproductive.

The main reason why soundmen are hired to play at Dancehall events is to entertain; not humiliate partygoers, spread gossip, share frequent sexual randevu “inna di car back” or request sexual favors from females over the microphone. A selected few of arrogant and egotistical soundmen are notorious for overstepping their boundaries by promoting behaviors that is not only unacceptable, but a direct attempt to undermine the pure essence of women. And if your face is no stranger to dancehall parties throughout New York, I’m pretty sure that you could think of the names of a few soundmen whose filthy mouths need to be rinsed-out with dish washing liquid. Well, since I am not in the business of putting people on blast, I will not list the names that immediately comes to mind even if you offer to buy me a spicy beef patty at Golden Crust restaurant on Utica or Jamaica Avenue.
