Dancehall: Grandma Behaving Badly on Camera

Have you ever watched clips of dancehall events on Youtube and felt embarrassed by the actions of a selected few of party-goers? Well, you are not alone.

The other day I came across a few clips of dancehall events while browsing Youtube and was amazed by what some females had the decency to say and do on camera. One female, for whatever reason, felt the need to tap her vagina while proudly declaring “it” tight and buff. After which she began to express how much she loves her man and wonderful children. Was she subliminally advertising her goods to attract potential clients? Or is she simply having fun? In another video, a scantily dressed female in her late or mid 50s gave a shout-out to her daughter and grandchildren after declaring herself a “good-ole gal.” Continue reading →

My Personal Thoughts about Reality TV

reality-tv2My empress never missed a episode of the reality television show titled “Real Housewives of New York” for reasons only she could explain. She loves the suspense, drama, and juicy excitement. So during Showtime hours, it wouldn’t be surprising to find her glued to the television set with a bag of Potato Chips, Oreo cookies, or a family-size pack of M&Ms.  Naturally, the “little-evil-red guy” that hangs out above my right shoulder often encourages me to hit her with a pillow (playfully) or do weird dance moves in front of the television set in order to pull her away from the “tube-monster.” But unfortunately, my efforts to pull her attention away from her favorite reality television show would get the following response: “mark, stop it!!! – I’m watching my show.” Continue reading →

The Breakable Bond of Friendship

A few weeks ago I received a phone call from a friend I went to college with. I had not seen or heard from her in a couple of years, so it was a total surprise to get a call from someone I once considered the little sister I never had. Two years had gone by without hearing from her and if my memory serves me correctly, the reason why I severed ties was because she failed to return my messages on numerous occasions. That was very upsetting to me not because I treated her like any brother would, but the fact that she ignored me when I needed her the most. To me, we were like family, but to her, I was just a guy that was always willing to help write/edit college papers and lend a shoulder to cry on when the going got rough. Continue reading →
