The increase popularity in wearing fitted jeans is no news to patrons who frequent popular dancehall parties throughout New York. But despite the fact that it is considered a relatively old fashion trend in dancehall culture, a lot of soundmen refuse to shy away from openly venting their disapproval. To express this, they often resort to the unthinkable: associating the new fashion trend with homosexuality and encouraging partygoers to distance themselves from such individuals.
The question of why are a lot of soundmen against fitted jeans could be explained with, but not limited to the following reasons. Firstly, a lot of them are insecure about their physical appearance to even consider wearing fitted jeans. Secondly, they are insecure about their own sexuality to the extent that they worry about loosing their masculinity. Thirdly, a lot of them are arrogant in their way of thinking to justify using a person’s fashion taste as a way to determine his or her true sexuality. And lastly, they lack the knowledge, experience and talent needed to keep partygoers entertained without having to resort to throwing cheep insults a selected group of individuals within the party.
