Have you ever felt like you didn’t get your money’s worth after leaving a party?

34_gold_guaranteeThe last time I went to a club was in fall of 2007 when a former friend of mine convinced me to attend a party at a popular club in Queens, New York. That night, I did not feel excited about leaving my warm bed to go anywhere, but because I had developed a reputation of turning down party invitations – I decided to break the trend.

We arrived at the party at approximately 12:30 am, paid the entrance fee ($20 USD) and got the shock of our lives when we realized that the club was almost empty. And to make matters worst, the DJ/Soundman was still trying to get his speakers and microphone to work properly. Nonetheless, if I had known that a portion of the party would involve us standing aimlessly while the DJ yells “microphone check, microphone check” one too many times, I would have stayed home.   Continue reading →

Valentines Day: Gifts Not to Give your Partner

Valentine’s Day is a few hours away and I’m pretty sure that most of you guys/ladies are still clueless about what to get your husband, wife, boyfriend or girlfriend. Instead of giving you suggestions on the ideal gifts to give, I will provide you with the list of five things that you should erase entirely from your book of ideas. Like most, I am not a big fan of Valentine’s Day because I believe that you should not rely on one day out of the year to show your partner how much you love and appreciate him/her. It is also my belief that Valentine’s Day is not being promoted on storefronts, radio and television stations throughout the United States in the name of “love,” but as the perfect opportunity to milk people out of their hard-earn money.
