The last time I went to a club was in fall of 2007 when a former friend of mine convinced me to attend a party at a popular club in Queens, New York. That night, I did not feel excited about leaving my warm bed to go anywhere, but because I had developed a reputation of turning down party invitations – I decided to break the trend.
We arrived at the party at approximately 12:30 am, paid the entrance fee ($20 USD) and got the shock of our lives when we realized that the club was almost empty. And to make matters worst, the DJ/Soundman was still trying to get his speakers and microphone to work properly. Nonetheless, if I had known that a portion of the party would involve us standing aimlessly while the DJ yells “microphone check, microphone check” one too many times, I would have stayed home.
