Contrary to that belief, promoting a success party requires a lot of planning, networking, sleepless nights, dedication, and most importantly, attention to details. The underlining reason why a lot of events are not successful is because they allow personal and other insignificant things to serve as a distraction. That is why, their main objectives should be to: maximize earning potential, create a following of “happy campers” and establish a reputation that is associated with quality events.

Community, Political and Church Leaders: Being Selective of Who you Choose to Follow.

dead-end-signTelevision stations, radio shows, online blogs, news papers and magazines have been bombarded over the past few months with news of pastors, government officials and social activists behaving in a manner that would make anyone question their true motives. Do they really believe in what they preach or are they merely putting on a show in order to get favorable reviews? Perhaps i am being naive or overly critical of individuals in power, but i personally believe that my thoughts in regards to this issue is shared across various spectrum. Truth is, we all have said or done things in our past that we would not feel proud to admit. In fact, most of the times we live our lives with feelings of guilt, because we are forced to come to grips with not been able to undo the hurt or pain caused by our actions. New York Dancehall Promoters Aiming for Local Celebrity Status

local_celebrity_zoomThe other day I was thinking about the possible hidden motives that could explain why partygoers are increasingly becoming dancehall promoters. Naturally, the first thought that came to mind was that they are attracted to the potential to make a lot of money, but as we all know – not all motives are fueled by dollar signs. In fact, pride is typically the culprit, but for some, achieving local celebrity status with the titles “Diva, Fashionista, Goodas or Trendsetter” is the ultimate goal.

Mainstream promoters approach their craft differently; so instead of worrying about becoming local celebrities – they are more concerned with building a portfolio that is not limited to promoting parties at semi-mini-clubs (SweatBox). Continue reading →
